On February 5, 2017, a man had his car stolen while delivering pizzas. A young woman was sitting in the back seat of the car at the time. She was ordered out of the car under threat of force a block down the road. The car was recovered days later. A firearm was missing from the car.

On February 20, 2017, the vehicle belonging to the UAA student was found wrecked in a neighborhood. Two men were observed leaving the crash. A few hours later, a man was preparing to drive home for the night after finishing a day’s work at a dental clinic on DeBarr Road. Two men approached him and held him at gunpoint while ransacking his pockets. The two men took the victim’s car and were later apprehended near the car and were armed with pistols. Dunlap was determined to have been carrying the same gun that was taken from the pizza delivery driver’s car.
