June 21, 2018
(Palmer, AK) As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Technical Crimes Unit of the Alaska State Troopers, Palmer resident Michael John Clark Jr. was indicted on Wednesday by the Palmer Grand Jury and charged with 11 counts related to the possession and distribution of child pornography. The Indictment was published today by the Palmer Superior Court.
Investigation into Clark began with a tip from a concerned citizen in the State of Colorado. The citizen reported that her 10-year old daughter’s Instagram account received a sexually explicit image from an account later determined to be Clark’s.
Clark faces a potential sentence of 20 years to 99 years for online enticement and 15 to 99 years on each of the remaining counts should he be convicted.
Any individuals with information regarding Clark’s activities should contact Trooper Nathan Bucknall of the Alaska State Troopers.
The indictment by the Grand Jury is a charging document, and Clark is presumed innocent of all charges unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
