Anthony Teayoumeak Indicted On Numerous Sexual Assault Charges
March 14, 2018
(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) On March 14, 2018 Anthony Teayoumeak (27) was indicted on seven counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, and one count each of Assault in the Second Degree, Coercion and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. The charges allege that Teayoumeak restrained the victim for several days, culminating on March 2, 2018 when he strangled her and forced her to use methamphetamine before committing several serious sexual offenses against her.
If convicted at trial Teayoumeak faces a sentence of up to 99 years and is subject to a presumptive term of imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years on each count of Sexual Assault in the First Degree. The charges in the indictment are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Teayoumeak is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
The Anchorage Police Department’s Special Victim’s Unit investigated this case. Currently Teayoumeak is in the custody of the Department of Corrections and will be arraigned in Anchorage Superior Court on March 16, 2018.
