Quinhagak Teen Indicted for Murder and Sexual Abuse of Child

(Bethel, AK) — Yesterday, a Bethel grand jury indicted 18-year-old Jordan T. Mark for sexually abusing and killing I.A., a 10-year old girl, in Quinhagak, Alaska on March 15, 2020. Mr. Mark was indicted on one count of Murder in the First Degree, one count of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree, and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence.
If convicted at trial, Mr. Mark faces a sentence of up to 99-years of imprisonment for the murder charge, up to 99-years of imprisonment for the sexual abuse charge, and up to five years of imprisonment for the Tampering with Physical Evidence charge.
These charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Mr. Mark is currently in custody in lieu of posting a $5,000,000 cash performance bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned before the Superior Court in Bethel on July 7, 2020.
