Peninsula Man Arrested in Connection with Multiple Sex Felonies

(Soldotna, AK) – Matthew James Klumb was arrested on May 22, 2020, in connection with charges for one count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, one Count of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, two Counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree, four counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree, and four counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Mr. Klumb is a long time Peninsula resident who worked at the local hospital as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant.
The charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. If convicted, Mr. Klumb faces a possible sentence of between 5 to 99 years for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, 20 to 30 years for Sexual Assault in the First Degree, 25 to 35 years for Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the First Degree, 5 to 15 years for Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree, and up to 1 year in jail for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
