Fairbanks Father And Son Indicted For Murder

(Fairbanks, AK) On February 25, 2021, 44-year-old Anthony Peterson and 18-year-old Aaron Peterson were indicted on charges of Murder in the First Degree and Murder in the Second Degree for the shooting death of Brett Allen on January 14, 2021.

If convicted at trial, Anthony and Aaron Peterson each face a sentence of up to 99 years imprisonment.

The charges in the indictment are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Anthony Peterson is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. He is being held on bail requiring a $500,000 cash performance bond. Aaron Peterson is also in the custody of the Department of Corrections. He is being held on bail requiring a $250,000 cash performance bond. Both men are expected to be arraigned in Superior Court in Fairbanks at 1:30 p.m. on March 3, 2021.
