Anchorage Man to be Sentenced for August 2013 DUI Murders

(ANCHORAGE Alaska) – On Friday, February 6, 2015, at 8:30 a.m., 33 year old Stacey Graham will be sentenced by Judge Kevin Saxby for the DUI murder of two Anchorage teenagers in August 2013. Graham pled guilty to two counts of murder in the second degree on October 6, 2014. His pleas came as a result of a pretrial agreement. Graham faces a sentence of 26 to 40 years in prison for his crimes.

On August 9, 2013, Graham drank alcohol during a company golf tournament and afterward at a friend's residence. Graham left his friend's residence in his pickup, which was observed driving at a high rate of speed east on Dimond Boulevard near the Old Seward Highway. Graham continued east on Dimond past the Seward Highway and around the Abbott Road curve, where he hit a puddle of water. The water caused his pickup truck to hydroplane and slide sideways. His pickup ultimately regained traction and then propelled to the curb where he struck two teenaged females from behind. The teenagers died at the scene. Graham's blood was drawn and measured to have a blood alcohol content of .180 grams of alcohol per 100 milliters of blood. His blood also contained active and inactive THC, which is the psychoactive component of cannabis. Graham suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.
