Job Description
The Fairbanks District Attorney’s Office is seeking a highly motivated attorney for a full-time assistant district attorney position. This role involves prosecuting cases in Fairbanks and requires strong oral advocacy skills. While prior prosecutorial experience is beneficial, it is not necessary.
Candidates should possess exceptional critical thinking, clear communication skills, and strong organizational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple cases.
Our office is made up of 16 passionate prosecutors and 17 committed support staff who are deeply involved in trials, pre-trial motion practice, daily court hearings, and post-conviction work. We proudly serve Fairbanks and empower courts in Utqiagvik, Tok, Galena, Delta Junction, Nenana, and Fort Yukon, embracing occasional travel opportunities to broaden our impact.


Fairbanks is a vibrant community of about 100,000 residents, home to the University of Alaska Fairbanks and two military bases. The area features major retail stores, local shops, gyms, and an international airport with direct access to many locations in the "lower 48."

Estimated Compensation
The table below gives an estimate of compensation based on a combination of judicial clerking and licensed legal experience. The compensation listed in the table represents the base pay. Several locations around Alaska have geographical pay differences. Upon a job offer, you would receive a firm salary quote based on location of position and qualifying experience. Attorneys are eligible to promote from Attorney 1 through 4 with service and acceptable job performance.
