Nancy Gordon Named Acting Deputy Attorney General for the Civil Division Following Appointment of Scott J. Nordstrand as Commissioner of Administration

(Anchorage) - Attorney General David Márquez announced the appointment of Nancy Gordon as Acting Deputy Attorney General for the Civil Division, replacing Scott J. Nordstrand who was appointed as Commissioner of the Department of Administration by Governor Frank H. Murkowski.
"As Deputy Attorney General for the Civil Section of the Department of Law, Scott has been my go-to lawyer on most of the critical issues impacting the department, the Administration and the state," said Márquez. "Scott's intelligence, his understanding of the legal infrastructure of the state and his high work standard will serve him well in the demands of his new position. The primary function of the Department of Administration and the Department of Law's Civil Division is to provide services to other departments and agencies. I wish him well and look forward to working with him in our continued efforts to serve the people of this state."
Nancy Gordon was named acting Deputy Attorney General. Gordon has supervised attorneys in the Department of Law since December 1991, and has managed the Anchorage office since July 1992. She was named the statewide Office Chief for the Civil Division in June 2002.
"We are fortunate to have many talented people in the Department of Law and I am pleased that Nancy will be assuming Scott's duties," said Márquez. "Nancy has a great legal mind and exceptionally strong organization skills. She is well regarded by me and throughout the department and I expect we will all go forward with our duties without missing a beat."
