Press Release
Anchorage Man Convicted of Indecent Exposure
July 12, 2013
Today, an Anchorage Jury found 40-year-old Shane Davis guilty of indecent exposure. In July 2012, Davis climbed over a fence into his neighbor’s backyard, which was full of the children’s toys and playground equipment. Davis carried a bottle of lubricant. He stripped naked and masturbated. One of the children saw him do so. When the neighbor confronted Davis, he fled the scene before police could apprehend him. Police found Davis the next day sunbathing in his own lawn. He confessed to masturbating in his neighbor’s lawn and apologized. Davis explained that he was high on LSD.
Previously, Davis was convicted of attempted burglary after entering the same neighbor’s home only three months before committing the indecent exposure. Due to his history of felony and misdemeanor convictions, the presumptive sentencing range is 15-25 years, plus suspended probation time. Following the verdict, Judge Kevin Saxby ordered Davis to register as a sex offender. Sentencing is scheduled before Judge Saxby on November 15, 2013.
