Anchorage Man Convicted of Rape

On December 6, 2013, 48-year-old Ronald McIntosh of Anchorage was convicted of raping and assaulting a woman in April 2013. Following a three week trial, a jury convicted McIntosh following a three week trial of sexual assault in the first degree, sexual assault in the second degree, and assault in the second degree, third Degree and fourth degree.

McIntosh strangled the woman and struck her multiple times with his fists and a studded belt. The woman escaped from the attack by climbing out of the window of McIntosh’s apartment. A passerby on Old Seward Highway observed the woman, shoeless and flagging down cars, at approximately 1:00 a.m. and stopped to assist her. The assault was reported to Anchorage Police who, led by Detective Brett Sarber, investigated the crime.

Superior Court Judge Jack Smith scheduled McIntosh’s sentencing for April 4, 2014. McIntosh faces a sentence range of approximately 46 to 106 years. Judge Smith will determine McIntosh’s sentence.
