Anchorage Man Convicted of Attempted Rape
February 14, 2014
On February 6, 2014, an Anchorage jury convicted 41 year old Jeremy Christian Bienek of Anchorage of attempted sexual assault in the first degree. Bienek lured an 18 year old woman to Kincaid Park where he forcibly bound her before she escaped.
In the early evening of August 15, 2011, the defendant took a young woman to a secluded area of Kincaid Park under the promise of a “hike”. Once inside a heavily wooded, unmarked portion of the park, he used duct tape to bind her wrists to a tree and covered her mouth. The young woman fought back and escaped the restraints. She reported the crime immediately to a family friend.
Superior Court Judge Morse scheduled Bienek’s sentencing for April 23, 2014. Based on his history of prior convictions, Bienek faces a sentence range of 25 to 35 years.
