Jury Convicts in Anchorage Stabbing Death

On April 18, 2014, an Anchorage jury found 32 year old Tidiane Kone guilty of intentionally murdering Adrian Beaver in August 2012. Kone repeatedly stabbed Beaver with a knife after chasing him down on foot. Kone also stabbed another man, Lovie Houston, who was with Beaver. Kone was on electronic monitoring as part of a pretrial release in another criminal case at the time of the homicide.
Kone was convicted of murder in the first degree and murder in the second degree for the death of Adrian Beaver. Kone was also convicted of assault in the second and fourth degree for the assault on Lovie Houston.
Kone has approximately nine prior criminal convictions since 2005, including a 2007 felony conviction. He faces a sentence of at least 20 to 99 years for his current crimes. Kone has been in jail since August 2012 and will remain in jail until his sentencing, which is scheduled for September 12, 2014 before Anchorage Superior Court Judge Kevin Saxby.
