Two Men Convicted of Multiple Armed Robberies

An Anchorage jury convicted 20 year-old Johnny Degrate and 22 year-old Robert Potts of multiple armed robberies which occurred in January and February 2015. The convictions follow a four week trial. This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Will Taylor.
Johnny Degrate was convicted of four counts of armed robbery for his role in the January 19 robbery of a Pizza Hut delivery driver, the February 8 robbery of a shopper in the parking lot of the Dimond Center, the February 11 robbery of a shopper in the parking lot of the midtown Wal-Mart, and the February 12 robbery of a shopper in the parking lot of the Dimond Center.
Robert Potts was convicted of three counts of first degree robbery for his role in the February 8, 11, and 12 robberies.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 8, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Kevin Saxby. The defendants face a sentence of seven to 11 years for each robbery conviction.
