Man Arrested in Juneau Following Sexual Abuse Indictment
November 23, 2016
(Anchorage, AK) – On November 23, 2016, 32 year old Robert Green was convicted by an Anchorage jury of two felony counts of furnishing alcohol to minors. The convictions stem from a fatal, single vehicle collision that occurred on O’Malley Road in Anchorage in February 2014.
The driver of the vehicle was 17 years old and was found deceased at the collision. The driver was determined to have more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. Two other teenagers were seriously injured in the collision. The evidence at trial showed that Green provided alcohol to a teenager he knew from his work at a local movie theater and that alcohol was consumed by the deceased driver of the vehicle in the collision. Anchorage Police Department Traffic Investigator Steve Dunn led the investigation of the collision.
Green was convicted of two counts providing alcohol to the minor who subsequently caused serious physical injury to another person who was under the influence of alcohol. Green was also convicted of a misdemeanor count of furnishing alcohol to a minor and a misdemeanor count of driving with a suspended drivers’ license. Superior Court Judge Paul Olson scheduled sentencing for February 24, 2017. As a result of Green’s prior criminal history, he faces a presumptive sentence of one to three years in prison.
