Anchorage Man Sentenced for 2014 Assault

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) Today, Superior Court Judge Michael Wolverton sentenced 27 year old Hunter Hedrick to 21 and a half years in prison for a 2014 assault. In June 2016, Judge Wolverton found Hedrick guilty of assault in the first and second degree following a three day bench trial.
On February 28, 2017, just after midnight, Anchorage Police Officers responded to a reported assault at a hotel on University Lake Drive in Anchorage. Officers found two hotel employees who suffered serious injuries. One employee had a broken arm and the other was sitting in a pool of blood.
At today’s hearing, Judge Wolverton sentence Hedrick to serve a maximum sentence of 20 years for the assault in the first degree and another year and a half to serve on the assault in the second degree. Judge Wolverton commented that he had “never seen such a savage, brutal beating or such a vicious attack.”
