Donnie Holton Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for 2016 Robberies

(ANCHORAGE, Alaska) On April 21, 2017, Superior Court Judge Michael Corey sentenced 37 year old Donnie Holton, of Los Angeles, California, to spend 10 years in prison for a string of 2016 robberies. Holton pled guilty to a consolidated count of robbery in the first degree as part of a plea agreement with the State. Holton had been previously indicted on four counts of robbery in the first degree.
Holton took responsibility for a series of armed robberies in April and May 2016 in the Mountain View neighborhood of Anchorage. Detective Scott Niwa of the Anchorage Police Department’s Robbery Assault Unit, led the investigation of the robberies which culminated in Holton’s arrest on June 28, 2016. Holton has remained in the custody of the Department of Corrections since his arrest. Holton is a fugitive from justice from the State of California and faces extradition to California.
