Anchorage Man Convicted of Sexual Assault
July 14, 2021
(Anchorage, AK) – On July 13, 2021, an Anchorage jury found Brian Wasky guilty of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree after a weeklong trial.
In April 2019, Wasky sexually assaulted an unconscious male victim in the back of an Anchorage Safety Patrol (ASP) van. ASP personnel witnessed part of the assault and reported it to authorities.
Wasky is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections. Wasky faces a sentencing range of between 5 to 15 years. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for a 15-year period. Sentencing is scheduled to take place on November 5, 2021 at 1030 in front of Judge Kevin Saxby.
This was the eighth trial held in Anchorage since the Alaska Supreme Court suspended jury trials in March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
